Would your child benefit from one day each week
immersed in outdoor play and learning?

Red Eft Play offers a child-centered forest school experience on ten acres of woodlands and fields. Our program is entirely screen- and technology-free, allowing children to reconnect with the natural world, one another, and themselves.

Instead of commercial toys, children play with what the landscape provides: rocks, sticks, mud, water, leaves, plants, and our collection of open-ended "loose parts" (objects that are not toys.) A log becomes a ship. A pile of branches forms a shelter. A stream is a raging flood to be dammed.

Throughout the day, children learn practical outdoor skills woven naturally into their play. Depending on the season, they may practice wildlife tracking, identify birds and wildflowers, cook over a fire, tend the garden, carve with hand tools, build shelters, or simply spend long stretches exploring the forest. We do not hurry children through activities but instead provide an environment where curiosity leads learning.

Many families choose Red Eft Play as a weekly "day out" from conventional schooling. We also warmly welcome homeschooling families seeking a rich, social, nature-based learning community.

Neurodivergent children are welcome here, and often do especially well with the increased autonomy, and the regulating natural environment.
